Manuscript Submission Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in publishing with us. To ensure your manuscript receives full consideration, please follow the submission instructions below carefully.

1.   Manuscript Preparation

  • Format: Submit your manuscript in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) or PDF format.

  • Font & Spacing: Use Times New Roman, 12-point font, double-spaced, with 1-inch margins.

  • Pagination: Include page numbers on all pages.

  • Title Page: Include the manuscript title, author’s full name, contact information, and word count.

  • Header/Footer: Include the manuscript title and your last name in the header or footer of each page.

 

2.   Submission Materials

 

Please include the following items with your manuscript:

  • Query Letter (1 page): A brief, professional introduction of yourself and your project.

  • Synopsis (1–2 pages): A summary of the book’s plot or main argument, including the ending (for fiction), or a clear outline of structure and thesis (for non-fiction).

  • Author Bio (1 paragraph): Relevant background, publications, and credentials.

  • Sample Chapters: For unsolicited submissions, submit the first 3 chapters or up to 50 pages unless otherwise stated.

 

3.   Submission Method

  • Email Submissions: Send to submissions@franklinpearson.media with the subject line: Submission – [Book Title] by [Author Name].

  • Postal Submissions (if accepted): Mail to: Franklin Pearson Publishing, c/o Society of the First African Families of English America, 
    265 Turkeysag Trail Suite 102 #155, Palmyra, VA 22963-2653. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) for a response if you would like materials returned.

4.   Submission Policy

  • We accept both agented and unagented submissions.

  • Simultaneous submissions are permitted, but please notify us immediately if the manuscript is accepted elsewhere.

  • Response time is typically 8–12 weeks. We appreciate your patience.

 

5.   Genres Accepted

 

We currently accept submissions in the following categories:

  • Fiction (literary, historical, mystery, etc.)

  • Non-fiction (biography, history, memoir, cultural studies)

  • Children’s and Young Adult literature

Please do not submit poetry, academic theses, or previously self-published works unless invited.

 

6.   Additional Tips

  • Carefully proofread your manuscript before submission.

  • Be professional and concise in all correspondence.

  • Do not call to inquire about the status of your submission.
